Kilnwood Vale
Working drawings were produced for 257 houses and apartments to Kilnwood Vale Phases 1A, B and C.
Crest Nicholson commissioned Grafik to head a team of engineers, ecologists and landscape architects to produce a technical package on the scheme in Faygate, West Sussex, creating a flourishing new community of traditionally designed 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes which are surrounded by open countryside between Crawley and Horsham.
Kilnwood Vale will be sustainably built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, incorporating thin joint blockwork construction to elements of Phase 1. This is an accredited modern method of construction, meeting all Building Regulation requirements, with the inner blockwork leaf being constructed first. Brickwork leaf will then follow allowing internal trades to commence site works sooner. Moreover, accredited Robust details to all applicable party wall situations to fully satisfy Approved document E of the Building regulations.
Equally at least 10% reduction in total CO₂ emissions across the site will be achieved through use of low and zero carbon technologies, namely photovoltaic cells incorporated in roof details.
