Planning consent existed for a scheme of private and social housing with retail units on the frontage. We were asked to look into planning and technical enhancements.
Our proposal increased the number of residential units by 13%, by adding additional floors while retaining the proportions and internal layout of the original designs. This revised proposal, providing 174 residential units, was approved by the planning authority.
We then prepared full construction drawings and investigated the methods of construction to improve build times and gain efficiencies. Innovative solutions were found by working closely with other consultants, suppliers and with the client. The project now forms a very strong edge to this busy London thoroughfare.
